Make me Dance!

You may (but probably won’t)remember that a few months ago my dulcet tones were included on a little ditty entitled 7-11 (if you don’t - you can read the whole sordid tale here Despite my habitual cool, I was actually a bit proud of this and having scaled the dizzy heights of stardom I was determined that the world and his wife should know about it, so I bored the pants off everyone I encountered by rendering acappella versions of my (admittedly small but definitely significant contribution - I like to think of it as being at least as important as the “big boys don’t cry” bit in 10cc’s I’m not in Love”) part at every opportunity I could manufacture.

And then, as such things go, I forgot about it until a couple of weeks ago when S sent through a link. Not only does the web ring out to my melodious voice once more - you’ve got dancing penguins too. So, for your delectation and delight I give you this

(I should just add that if you do click on the link you will spend the next 3 weeks desperately trying to make the sodding things move in time to the music but hey have we got anything better to do?)

oh darling, I wish I had sound, because I so want to hear that!

(I’m the girl screaming on the Ohio Players ‘Love Rollercoaster” track, btw. Well, not really, but I had a bunch of people at a party convinced of that one time. One asked ‘Didn’t you die? I answered ‘Yeah.’ good party.)

FN. You know its a good party when you can answer yes to being dead and people will believe you.

In any case dead or alive - I’d stick with the story. Rollercoaster of love is a brilliant song

I’d offer to send you a cd but that would really be pushing things down peoples throats. So here - for your ears is the silent remix.

weird white noise bit and a voice that sounds like a radio says ” so there are no civilised societies in the world and the world is not civilised” then white noise and then … a computer voice goes
    “make me seven eleven”

funky keyboard (think stevie wonder)going dudu dudu

    me “1″
    dudu dudu
    “2″
dudu dudu (keyboard keeps going, drums join in…I’m in time with the drums)
    ” 1,2,” “1 2 3 4″
keyboard keeps going and other weird electronic instruments join in.
    then
    “1,2,3,4″
    “1234567″
    “7-11″
    “7-11″
“7-11″ (this is a good bit as on the ‘ven bit of eleven my voice goes all with the beat and echoey…)

…the rest of the song (with me appearing at various intervals)
gospel choir … whoa whoa yeah yeah…

    there you go!

Sort of think of that “everybodies talking about pop music” song (can’t remember the title but its the one with the chorus that goes “New York, London, Paris, Munich - everybodies talking about pop music) with a bit of Lady Superstition and then add a distinctly redneck yeehaw feel and you got it!

Very cute indeed! I could play with that penquin all day….unfortunately, I have to go and get children ready for school.

Thank you! That was so cutting edge!
My favorite part is the dudus.
