essentially what's going on is that because (i believe) of an extra comment symbol (/*) here and there in the CSS, IE is simply eating out a whole chunk of your CSS. If you want to see what i'm talking about, save the main page to your desktop using IE, go into the Hendrix Cat_Files folder it created, open the style.css file it saved, and compare it with the original.

mail me an admin login so i can work on it directly, things get lost (ie fucked up by IE) in translation when downloading the page and working on it offline, i'd rather do it directly.

hm. just checked it in IE and there <i>is</i> a problem. IE is very sensitive to syntax in your page structure, one misplaced pointy parentheses (whatever they're called) can break it. I'm viewing at 1680x1050 and in Firefox it looks great but in IE the box size is not working and fonts neither. I will try to take a look at it over the next couple of days (running around a little today though), you don't need to send me anything for the moment, i'll just get your CSS and main page.

Dave. Thank you! Sorry to hear that blogger ripped up your post, it does have a habit of doing that. I must admit I write everything in word first and then copy and paste it into blogger - just in case!

Bering. Course you can have the template, its nothing special though - just the default one with a few tweaks - tell me which bits to send and where. I still need to fiddle with it a bit though, as I've just looked it up on my work laptop which runs Explorer and not Firefox and it looks really bad, no sidebar, font too big and bold and text stretched too far...and I think I got a bit carried away by the categories so they need sorting too! Tell me - what screen size are you viewing this on and are you IE or Firefox?

Now that is what i call a website. Congrats on being blogger-free!

I don't suppose you'd share the template at some point? I'm getting bored with mine and longing to futz around with something new.

Love the fonts and the white and blackness. Didst thou code this thineself?

I'm propelled here by FN as well, and I agree -- this is mighty fine writing. You have a great ear for dialogue.
I actually wrote quite a long anecdote about my mother's experiences as a taxi dancer in the palais scene of London during the war, but when I sent it Blogger put up an error message and threw it away. Maybe it's just as well.
I'll be back.

Christine. Thank you!

FN.Oh god No!! No criticism of you or anyone else who commented was meant. I just wondered how come you were all so much more sorted about relationships than I was (I've had what you might call a chequered past)and I seriously did start to think it was something wrong with me and that's when decided to backtrack to see if I could blame on my parents and grandparents and the result was a damn funny story.

What I did discover was that I could blame the staying out past the time I was supposed to be when I was a teen squarely on her shoulders. It was her tardy gene and not my thoughtlessness to blame.

And I'd love to say that this is my creative genius at work but this is practically word for word the way she tells the tale. No credit due to me other than having a good memory.
